Larkin Resigns as USD 480 Superintendent

Liberal’s superintendent has stepped down. After a special USD 480 board of education meeting Monday, the district issued the following press release.

Paul Larkin has submitted to the USD 480 Board of Education his resignation as Superintendent of USD 480 to pursue

other opportunities. The Board of Education at a special meeting held on September 14, 2015 accepted Mr. Larkin’s

resignation and expressed gratitude and thanks for Mr. Larkin’s work with the district and the successful passage of the

recent school bond issue.

Renae Hickert has been appointed as Interim Superintendent

Larkin was named superintendent in late May of 2013. He began his third year as the superintendent at Liberal. For the previous three years before the superintendent position, Larkin had been serving in USD 480 as Director of Human Resources and was the Deputy Superintendent. Before coming to Liberal, he was principal eight years at Augusta High School.
