Lady Saints Survive Slow Starts in Garden City

The #9 Seward Lady Saints won their conference opener 71-59 Saturday night in Garden City. Seward fell behind 12-0 to begin the game. Seward rallied to lead 36-27 at halftime only to see the Lady Busters begin the second half on an 8-0 run to make it 36-35. But the Lady Saints used a 14-2 run to take a 50-37 lead.

Seward held Garden City to under 30 percent shooting. Korina Chapman and Alana Simon led a balanced Lady Saint attack with 14 points a piece. Shanise Brooks, Kyndal Davis, and Payton Fleming had 10 a piece.

Seward breaks a three game losing skin against Garden City and a three game streak at Garden City. Seward is 16-1 while the Lady Busters are 8-8.

The Lady Saints play at Colby Wednesday at 6 with coverage beginning at 5:45 on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
