Lady Saints Rank Ninth in NJCAA Pre-season Poll

KSCB News - October 26, 2010 12:00 am

After finishing 31-3 and Jayhawk West Champions last

season, the Seward County Lady Saints Women’s Basketball team has been

ranked 9th in the country according to the 2010-2011 NJCAA pre-season

poll. The Lady Saints return only 2 sophomores from last season’s

Region VI Runners-up but bring on a pair of sophomore transfers as well

as a talented cast of young freshman to try and help live up to the

hype. The defending National Champion Gulf Coast Lady Commodores top

the rankings with Central Arizona, and Casper right behind them. Seward

is one of three Jayhawk West teams to make it into the poll as

Hutchinson opens the year #17 and Cloud County #24. The Lady Saints

will open their season November 5th in the Pepsi Classic when they host

the Neosho County Lady Panthers at 6:00. For more insight on the

2010-2011 Lady Saints look for a preseason preview on the team coming

out tomorrow.
