Lady Saints Make it 50 Straight Over Pratt

Since February 20, 1991,  the Seward Lady Saints have regularly defeated Pratt in women’s basketball.  That trend continued Saturday night in the Green House.  Seward blistered the Lady Beavers 81-32.  The Lady Saint defense returned with a vengeance holding Pratt to 19 percent shooting (9-48).  Seward made 49 percent of their shots as they built a 24-11 lead after the first quarter and 51-15 at the half.  Seward used a five in and five out rotation to wear down Pratt.  Seward’s 2-2-1  three quarter court press forced 25 Pratt turnovers.  Mollie Mounsey had 19 points on 7-11 shooting with six steals.  Lexi Hernandez and Vilma Covane had 12 a piece.  Seward is 6-1 and 4-1 in the Jayhawk while Pratt is 1-7 and 0-5.  Seward hosts Cowley Wednesday night at 6 in the Green House.  McDonald’s is the game sponsor.  The game airs on B107.5 and kscbnews.net with Saints Shoot-around at 5:45.
