Lady Saints Left Off Jayhawk West First Team

Three Seward County Lady Saints were honored by the
Jayhawk West with All-Conference honors this week. Madison McLain,
Ricquia Jones, and Fabiana Monte were all selected by the league’s
coaches for the All-Conference squads. Jones and McLain picked up 2nd
Team All-Jayhawk West accolades while Monte was an Honorable Mention
All-League selection.

Jones averaged 10.3 points and 3.9 assists per game this
season for the Lady Saints, making her one of just two players in the
conference to notch those numbers. McLain led the Lady Saints in
scoring in 2012-2013 at 13.9 points per game and was second on the team
with 5.9 rebounds per game on the year. Monte was Seward’s second
leading scorer in Jayhawk West contests this season, averaging 10.2
points per game in league tilts and 10.0 points overall on the year.

Tamara Jones of Garden City was named the Conference
Player of the Year while John Ontjes of Hutchinson was named the Coach
of the Year and Jordyn Alexander of Cloud County was named the Freshman
of the Year. Hutchinson led the conference with 4 All-Conference picks
and Seward County was the only other school with 3.
