Lady Saints ‘D’ Up in Opening Win

The 8th ranked Seward Lady Saints brought their defense to their opener Saturday in Liberal.  Seward beat Hesston 84-45 Saturday in a rare afternoon game in the Green House.  Seward forced 35 Hesston turnovers in the win.  They held Hesston to 17 first half points.  Seward led 20-6 after one quarter and 39-17 at halftime.  Mollie Mounsey led the Lady Saints with 15 points while Vanessa Caro had 12 and Lexi Hernandez had 11.  Silvia Veloso pulled down nine rebounds.  Seward hosts Frank Phillips Wednesday night at 6 in the Green House.  The game airs on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
