KHP: Fatality Accident With Pedestrians Not a Hit And Run

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident that occurred Saturday night at approximately 11:17pm, was not a hit and run. A pick up being driven by a Liberal resident was headed east on 2nd street when she hit 2 individuals who were either laying, sitting or squatting in the roadway. The pick up veered to the left and came to rest in the ditch. The individuals in the pick up remained on scene, notified a family member who contacted police. No arrests have been made, and this incident remains under investigation. Names of the victims have not been released pending notification of relatives.
