Katie Horyna is Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week

Liberal sophomore Katie Horyna is the Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Horyna won the WAC in the mile in 5:45 with her best time in 5:27 and the two mile in 12:42 with her top time 11:58 this season.  She helped the 4×400 team to a third place finish at WAC Thursday in Dodge City with Audrey Gilmore, Kelsey Ramsey, and KT Polvon.  She is a member of NHS.  Even though she is only a sophomore, Horyna has already been named all state in cross country and basketball.  She was first team all state in basketball this season and all state in cross country her freshman year after taking seventh.  She and the LHS track and field team compete at the regional at Friends University in Wichita Friday.  Horyna will compete in the 3200, 1600, 800, and the 4×400 Friday.
