Kan. Principal Suspended With Trial Pending

KSCB News - April 26, 2010 12:00 am

Stanton County High School has suspended its principal with pay while he awaits trial for criminal charges.

Craig Butler was scheduled to go on trial Monday in Johnson County on charges of aggravated burglary, arson and criminal damage. But the trial in Olathe in eastern Kansas has been pushed back until June 14.

The Hutchinson News reports the charges against the 36-year-old were filed in August 2008, about a year before he was hired as principal of Stanton County High, in western Kansas.

Court records show the charges are the result of a domestic situation involving Butler’s wife, Tracy Butler.

Butler is represented by former Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison.
