K-9 Memorial Unveiled at Restlawn Cemetery

In a brief ceremony Thursday afternoon, the Seward County Sheriff’s Office unveiled the new K-9 Memorial at Restlawn Cemetery.
Sheriff Gene ward spoke briefly before turning the program over to SGT. Bo Jacobs who thanked Mike Hornung and Chuck Bowman of Hornung Family Funeral Home for the donation of the memorial stone. SGT. Jacobs also thanked the Seward County Commission for passing Resolution 2022-06 authorizing the burial of Seward County Law Enforcement Agency Canines in Restlawn Cemetery. The area on the southeast side of the cemetery is dedicated as a final resting place for the K9 law enforcement service dogs within Seward County.
Several Law Enforcement officials from Seward County and the City of Liberal were in attendance as were several employees of the City and County and were members of the community.
