Hooker Man Charged With Rape

A man from Hooker remains behind bars after being arrested for two sexual crimes, including Rape in the Second Degree and Lewd Molestation.

Kenyon David Burgis Campbell, 24 of Hooker, was arrested Saturday, June 26, after he allegedly committed the crimes.

According to information obtained from the Texas County Court Clerk’s Office, Campbell allegedly committed the crimes on or about June 2, 2010. The victim is under the age of 16, therefore details are not being released.

Campbell faces the felony charges of Rape in the Second Degree and Lewd Molestation. Rape in the Second Degree is punishable by death or imprisonment for not less than one year to not more than 15 years and a fine of not more than $10,000. Lewd Molestation is punishable by imprisonment for not less than three years to not more than 20 years and a find not more than $10,000.

Campbell is currently in custody at the Texas County Detention Center where his bail is set at $50,000.
