Hooker Bulldogs Look the Part

KSCB News - August 22, 2011 6:35 am

The Hooker Bulldogs look like a good Class A football team. They have speed and size. They filled out those uniforms they wore Friday during their picture day. And by all accounts, they competed well with class 4A Guymon in a scrimmage on Thursday evening. But can they get out of the way of themselves? Injuries and defections from the team have hampered this program for the better part of the past decade.

They have 25 out for football at Hooker and return most of last year’s 1-8 team. They lost three seniors and one starter in Joe Biddle. Young Jake Kreamer may bring just the swagger this program needs. The Pilot Point, Texas native was a college football player at East Central just two years ago. He assisted the Bulldog program last year and this season gets his chance to be a head coach.

Key Bulldogs include: Junior Joe Bean who moves from running back to quarterback; senior Kyle Bingham moves to running back and plays strong safety; junior wide receiver Payson Slater; senior lineman Roy Alvarado; senior lineman Cody Ansley; senior lineman Guerrero Garcia; senior free safety Brandon Goosen; senior defensive end Trevor Smith; senior lineman Dakota Smith; and junior wide receiver and linebacker Chad Kennedy.

The Bulldogs will be featured during the Monday morning Sportsguys between 7:37 and 9 on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
