Holcomb Handles Liberal

Missed rebounding assignments, porous third quarter defense, and poor free throw shooting were a bad combination for Liberal in their basketball opener Friday night in front of a good opening night crowd in the Big House. Class 3A Holcomb took down Liberal for a second straight year 65-47.

The Longhorns, who were 15-8 last year, led 12-10 after one and 27-20 at halftime. Their point guard Tyler LaSalle, who scored 24 at LHS last year dropped in 20 Friday night.

Liberal missed numerous shots in close and only William Ross scored in double digits with 18. Liberal was 3-12 at the free throw line.
