Hays Hands Lady Redskins Season Ending Loss

The Liberal Lady Redskins lengthy winter of basketball ended unceremoniously Thursday night in Hays. The heavily favored WAC champion Hays handled Liberal 51-31. The Lady Redskins finish 3-18.
Hays used an 11-0 first half run to blow the game open. It was 18-8 HHS after one quarter and 29-12 at the half. The Lady Indians (17-4) led 39-19 after three quarters. Fort Hays State signee Paige Lunsford scored 20 in the win.
Freshman scored Megan Besecker led LHS with 12 while senior Shaquill Bond added 10. Seniors Ramey Petty, Amanda Collins, Shaquill Bond, and Emily Bayouth played in their final game.
Hays faces Newton Saturday at 7:45 in Newton.
