Haskell County Voters Approve Golf Course Mill Levy Increase

The voters in Haskell County went to the polls yesterday with one question on the ballot, should an annual levy, not to exceed one mill, be assessed against all taxable tangible property within Haskell County for the operation, maintenance and acquisition of capital improvements for a golf course pursuant to K.S.A. 19-27, 156.

693 voters went to the polls with 372 voters voting yes, and 321 voting no. Unofficially the mill levy increase has passed. The election will become official after a canvassing of the votes.
