Guymon Spring Sports Update

WEEKLY CHAMPIONS

? The following athletes qualified for the state track meet that will be held at Ardmore HS on Saturday, May 15th.Randall Coble– Regional Champion Pole Vault, Kyan Rice– Regional Runner-up Pole Vault, Yeraldy Ruiz– 3rd place Pole Vault, Veya Gonzalez– Regional Runner-up Shot Put and 7th place discus, Aaliyah Gutierrez– Regional Runner-up in the 100 hurdles & 300 hurdles, Naomi Aragonez– 6th high jump. 

?Gannon Wallace and Nash Kauffman qualified for the state golf tournament that will be played this Monday and Tuesday at Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa on May 10th and 11th. 

?Anna Bautista placed 21st at the 5A state golf tournament and was selected as All-State and will represent the 5A West team this summer at the All-State games in Tulsa. 

Girls soccer head coach Michelle Davis was named the District soccer coach of the year along with the following girls for All-District: Katherine Davis, Nereida Chavez, Sebastiana Naz, Kasandra Jimenez, Abby De La Garza.  Natalia Jimenez was an All-State selection.

Boys soccer had the following boys named for All District honors: Michael Medina, Brandon Castro.  The following were named All-State Honorable Mention: Fernando Campos, Brandon Castro, Andy Gutierrez.  Ricardo Lira was an All-State selection.

Anna Bautista qualified for the state golf tournament and will play this Wednesday and Thursday at Kingston.

Baseball won two district games over Capitol Hill by scores of 12-2 and 26-2. 

JV Baseball defeated Turpin in one game.  

Girls soccer defeated Southeast in a home district match by a score of 5-1. 

Girls golf won the Woodward Invitational.

Boys JH track won the Laverne Invitational with a team score of 156.5.  Second place had 129 points.

Boys JH track won the Beaver Invitational with a team score of 221.  Second place had 165 points.

Girls JH track won the Beaver Invitational with a team score of 125.4.  Guymon 8th girls were second with 119 points. 

Boys HS track won the Beaver Invitational with a team score of 130. Second place had 108 points. 

Boys soccer defeated Del City in a home district match by a score of 3-2.

Girls soccer defeated Del City in a home district match by a score of 7-0.

Girls soccer defeated Capitol Hill in a district match by a score of 2-1 in OKC.

Boys golf won the Laverne Invitational.

Girls golf won the Dalhart Invitational. 

The GHS Student Athletic Leadership team volunteered their Saturday morning at Henry C. Hitch Pioneer Arena in preparation for the upcoming Pioneer Days Rodeo. 

Boys JH Track won the Hooker Invitational.
