Guymon Man Suffers Injuries in Two Vehicle Accident

An injury accident occurred  Tuesday, January 5th at approximately 6:15 am on US 64, approximately .7 of mile east of Laverne, Oklahoma in Harper County.
A 2012 Kenworth driven by Thomas Allen Stephens, 77, of Guymon, Oklahoma was eastbound on US64 while a 2019 Freightliner driven by Billy Leon Forer III, 47, of Midwest City, Oklahoma was westbound on US64. Stephens crossed the center line of US64 and Forer swerved to the right to avoid hitting the Kenworth. Both semis collided . Stephens truck departed the roadway to the left striking the ditch and a fence before coming to rest in the upright position. Forer’s Freightliner continued westbound crossing the center line, departing the roadway to the left, striking the ditch and a fence before coming to rest also in the upright position.   Stephens was transported by Laverne EMS to Harper County Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, Oklahoma, then later transferred by Med-Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was dmitted in stable condition with head and arm injuries.
Forer was not injured.  Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles
