A fatality accident occurred Saturday morning at approximately 8:21 am near the Loves Truck Stop, on US 54, 1415 feet East of US 83.

A 2022 Kenworth semi, being driven by Emmanuel Jimmerson, 41, of North Las Vegas Nevada was exiting from the Love’s Travel Stop Western entrance, initiating a left turn to travel East on U54. A 2021 Ford F350 pulling a 2022 Solutide RV trailer, being driven by Stanley Wayne De Weerd, 73, of Rock Valley Iowa, was traveling West on U54 and collided with the driver side of the semi.

A passenger in the Ford, Arlis Kay De Weerd, 72, also of Rock Valley Iowa, died at the scene. Stanley De Weerd was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with suspected serious injuries.

Jimmerson, and a passenger in the semi, Anthony Dawayne Wilson, 58, of North Las Vegas Nevada were not injured.
