Evans Boosts Rattlers in Win Over Junction City

The Liberal Rattler 18U team is 2-0 at state.  Liberal defeated Junction City 12-2 Friday morning a Wellington’s Hibbs-Hooten Field.  Cole Evans had a huge game.  The future Saint was 3-4 with eight RBI’s and a home run.  Tucker Deaton pitched four innings allowing one earned run and Pancho Terrazas went three innings without allowing an earned run.  Evans was named the MVP and Elijah McCarter won the WOW award for an unassisted double play.  McCarter and Kaleb Wilmes had two hits a piece.  Liberal’s biggest inning was a six run seventh.  They scored one in the first and second and two in the third for a 4-0 lead.  Two more in the fifth made it 6-1.  Liberal is 28-5 and 2-0 at state.  They play Walnut Ark Valley which is a group from the Wellington area.
