Errors Costly in Liberal’s First Loss

Dodge City handed Liberal their first loss of the season Tuesday night at Demon Field in Dodge CIty 4-1. Liberal committed three errors in the loss but out hit the Red Demons 6-4.

Liberal scored a run in the second to lead 1-0 thanks to an RBI from Angel Archuleta. Cole Evans (5-1) pitched 5.3 innings allowing three hits, two earned runs, three strikeouts, and four walks. Zack White and Jared Hasik each pitched one third of an inning. White was 3-3 at the plate with a triple and a run scored. Archuleta, Stevie Lira, and Sylman Pando added a hit a piece. The JV lost to Dodge City 10-3.

Liberal is 14-1 and 2-1 in the WAC and Dodge City is 10-1 and 4-1 in the WAC. Hays and Great Bend split with the Indians winning 14-1 and the Panthers winning 11-7. Great Bend is 3-3 in the WAC and Hays is 4-2. Liberal hosts Garden City
