Election Activity Begins In Oklahoma, Texas County

Statewide Election activity began officially at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 11th, when the filing period opened for the offices of Texas County: Clerk, Commissioner for District #2, Court Clerk and Sheriff, La Fonda F. Limon, Secretary of the Texas County Election Board, said today.

Candidates for county offices will need to file with the Secretary of the County Election Board located at 301 N. Main St. (Courthouse Annex) in Guymon, OK. Candidate filing forms and information for both state and county office-seekers is available at the County Election Board or on-line at www.elections.ok.gov . “Candidate Filing” will be listed on the “home” page. Click on the link for the Candidate Filing Packet.

In addition, Hooker will have a Special Election on the 26th day of June 2012 for Mayor. The filing Period for this position will begin on Wednesday 18th April 2012 at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. on Friday 20th April 2012.

The office will be open from 8:00 a.m. ~ 5:00 p.m. for the filing period, Limon said. The last day for any person who wishes to run for the above said mentioned office will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, 13th April 2012.
