Brock Kappelmann - October 11, 2018 6:47 am

After flooding rains in the Wichita area pushed back the North Cup two days, the Liberal Redskins finally made the trip and took the field on Wednesday afternoon.  The Wichita East Aces edged the Liberal Redskins 2-1 in the opener of the Wichita North Cup.  Mike Fonseca scored Liberal’s goal with an assist from David Arroyo.  LHS had a PK with 48 seconds left but missed.  The Redskins led the rest of the stat sheet as LHS led shots on target 14-11 and led corner kicks 6-5.  The Redskins had two fouls and no cards while the Aces had two fouls and a yellow card.  The Redskins fall to 9-3 and play Wichita Trinity Friday in the Wichita North Cup.
