Delivery Driver Robbed

On Saturday, April 3, 2010, at about 11:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a robbery at the Pizza Hut delivery, 117 West First. Responding officers summoned Seward County EMS to treat a male with a head injury.

Investigating officers learned that a 39 year old male had just delivered a pizza to a resident in the 700 block of North Pershing. A witness described that a male ran up behind the deliveryman as he was retuning to his car. The male struck the deliveryman in the head with an object and stole his wallet. The assailant escaped on foot. The deliveryman was able to drive himself back to Pizza Hut delivery.

The suspect was described as about tall and weighing about 140 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black or blue pants. The suspect ran to the north and east from the scene.

The Liberal Police Department is requesting the publi s assistance to solve this crime. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Liberal Police Department at 626-0150 or the Crime Hotline at 624-4000. Persons providing information that leads to an arrest are eligible for a reward up to $1000.00.
