Cub Scouts To Pass Bucket For United Way

KSCB News - September 15, 2011 8:23 am

Liberal Cub Scout Packs will be helping the Seward County United Way
by collecting money at the Sept. 16 Liberal High School football game
against Hays on Friday night. There will be Cub Scouts at each gate
with a United Way bucket to accept donations.

"I really appreciate the support that the Boy Scouts, as one of my
agencies, gives me during campaign," said Kay Burtzloff, director of
the Seward County United Way. "We’ve done this before and the
donations have ended up being between $400 to $600. It’s always
amazing how small donations can add up."

The Seward County United Way will fund 28 agencies in 2011. This
year’s goal is $325,000, the highest one ever set by the United Way
board of directors. "This is our 50th Anniversary campaign so I’m
hoping we can set a new record this year," Burtzloff said.
