Crash Claims the Life of a Liberal Man

At 9:02am on Friday morning, a two vehicle accident claimed the life of a Liberal man. The accident occurred at the intersection of 2nd Street Road and the Hooker/Moscow Road in Stevens County.

A 2017 Chevy Silverado being driven by Grady Owens, 30, of Liberal was west bound on 2nd road when he failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection of the Hooker/Moscow Road, causing a  southbound 2004 Peterbilt semi being driven by Johan Peters-Bergen, 64, of Copeland to collide with the pick up.  Owens died at the scene. The driver of the semi was taken to the Stevens County Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
