Community Groups To Rally Against Voter ID Law

KSCB News - September 28, 2011 8:28 am

More than 20 faith, labor and community
groups are expected to convene in Wichita this week to mobilize
grassroots opposition to an effort to move up the start date for
new Kansas voter identification laws.
The groups are calling the statewide partnership KanVote and
plan to meet Thursday in Wichita.
Participants oppose a push by Secretary of State Kris Kobach to
require people who are voting for the first time to show proof of
citizenship starting in March, rather than in January 2013 as the
new law now requires.
