In a press release from City Manager Mark Halls office, the City of Liberal has named Jeff Parsons as the City’s new Economic Development Director. Mr. Parsons has served as Interim Director since March of 2009, managing and providing strategic leadership during troubled economic times that face our city and nation. Mr. Parsons will assume his new position on October 1, 2009.
According to City Manager Mark Hall, “Mr. Parsons is a fantastic fit for the City Of Liberal. He brings with him the past months of working with the State of Kansas on various economic projects, innovative ideas, and because of his past work for the City, tremendous knowledge of Liberal and Seward County. Mr. Parsons will add a new dimension to our economic development efforts, and will greatly increase our ability to attract and retain businesses in Liberal. Mr. Parsons will bring a renewed vision to Economic Development. He will be able to build upon Liberal’s unique strengths and natural advantages. I am pleased to have Mr. Parsons working for the City Of Liberal and Seward County.”
The new Economic Development Director will provide business development services to privately-owned businesses considering expansion or other investments in Liberal, as well as work to attract new business from outside the area.
