City Commission Meets Approves Name For New Soccer Complex

The Liberal City commission met Tuesday evening at 5:30pm for their regularly scheduled meeting. Among the items on the agenda, the Commisson approved the purchase of 6 sets of body armour for the Liberal Police Department. Body armour is purchased on a rotating cycle, with 6 sets expiring. Total purchase price is $4,350, of which half of the total cost will be reimbursed to the City through grant funding.

Commissioners unanimously approved the naming of the new lighted, competitive soccer complex the “Lambert Family Soccer Complex”. It was the Lambert Family, Duane and Thelma Jean, who generously donated the land on east Tucker Road for the soon to be constructed facility.

The Commission also accepted the low bid of $523,165.00 from the Middlecreek Corporation for the new water and sewer lines to serve the Pinnacle, Century Heights, and Millenium Additions to the City of Liberal.
