Carroll Dominates LHS in Titan Classic Opener

Bishop Carroll dominated Liberal in their opening round game of the Wichita South Titan Classic.  The Eagles defeated the Redskins 6-0.  Carroll scored four of their six on set plays.  LHS head coach Carlos Ruiz says this was a big early challenge.

“It was definitely the hardest game that we have ever had this early in the season,” Ruiz said.  “It’s always a good thing to see one of the best teams in the state early on.  This helps us prepare and work harder at practices.  We have a lot of season left so a lot more soccer to be played and developed.”

Liberal plays Dodge City Thursday in the second game of the Wichita South Titan Classic.  The game will be played at 4 in Dodge City to save travel for both schools.  Liberal hasn’t defeated Dodge City in girls soccer since 2013 and before that was 2008 and both of those games were in Liberal.  LHS is 1-2.
