Carlos Mora and Easton Zapien Make State

Two Liberal wrestlers make state in Liberal’s first year in 6A. The Redskins competed at a loaded 6A Garden City regional at the Garden Friday and Saturday. 145 pound senior Carlos Mora and 160 pound freshman Easton Zapien both made state. Mora took 6th at 145 and Zapien was 8th. This was a regional with seven of the top nine ranked teams in 6A. The regional also boasted of 58 ranked wrestlers compared to 26 at Blue Valley in Overland Park. Here are Liberal’s results. Interviews with Carlos, Easton, and coach Kyle Molina are coming next week.
