Car Crashes into Guardrail East of Liberal

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a car crashed into a guardrail on Highway 54 and injured a woman east of Liberal Wednesday afternoon. Seventy-three year old Vivian Dinkel of Las Cruces, New Mexico drove a 2010 Elantra east on Highway 54 and passed another car. Her car then over corrected and entered back into the east bound lanes. Dinkel lost control of the car and slid across all lanes of traffic into westbound traffic lanes and struck the guardrail in the ditch. Her car came to rest on its top. Debris from her car damaged the car she passed. Dinkel was taken to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal with injuries.
