KSCB News - March 9, 2015 3:55 pm

Early Monday morning, an Amtrak train was evacuated due to a bomb threat.

The Garden City Police Department received information from the Amtrak Police advising that they had received a bomb threat towards the Southwest Chief Train.

At approximately 12:23 a.m., the train arrived in Garden City.

Approximately 150 passengers and 10 crew members were evacuated from the train and taken to the Law Enforcement Center.

Once the passengers were evacuated from the train, the train was cleared by the Kansas Highway Patrol. Nothing was located. After the train was cleared, passengers were allowed to board the train and return on their travels.

The Red Cross provided blankets and refreshments for the passengers while they waited at the Law Enforcement Center.
