Bicyclist Hit By Car In Southwest Kansas

A bicyclist from New York was critically hurt when hit by a SUV in Western Kansas. The accident happened on Kansas Highway 96, one mile west of Tribune.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said an SUV driven by Mildred Waldren, 86, of Tribune, was watching oncoming traffic and didn’t see the bicycle in her lane. The SUV hit the bicycle pushing it into the ditch.

The bicyclist, Charles Culberston, 62, of Pittsford, New York, was flown to Swedish Hospital in Denver for treatment.
