Bee Jays Stay Perfect at NBC

KSCB News - August 9, 2010 12:00 am

The Liberal Bee Jays needed a heroic ending to win it, but Joe Vaskas provided that with a walk-off two RBI double to lift the Bee Jays to a 7-6 victory over the St. Joseph (MO) Mustangs Sunday night at the NBC World Series in Wichita.

Liberal led througout most of the game scoring five runs in the third inning. The Bee Jays led 5-3 heading to the ninth, and were just three outs away from victory when the Mustangs scored three runs to take the lead.

Liberal rallied in the bottom of the ninth though on Vaskas’ walk-off two RBI double.

The Bee Jays are now the only 4-0 team at the NBC World Series. They will next play on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The game will air on 1270 AM and right here on kscbnews.net.
