Brock Kappelmann - July 20, 2017 7:05 am

The Liberal Bee Jays got together with area high school and college baseball players for a game Wednesday night at Brent Gould Field.  It was Liberal’s final home game.  A good crowd turned out to watch the Bee Jays play the Southwest Kansas All Stars.  The All Stars were comprised of players from Liberal, Garden City, Moscow, and Holcomb.  Liberal coach Eric Olmstead coached the team.

As for the game, the Bee Jays won 11-0 in a seven inning game.  Derek Craft pitched four shutout innings.  Tyler Tognarine went one inning.  Garrett Scott two shutout innings.

Kyle Schmidt hit a two run homer over the left field wall.  Chad Kennedy singled home two.  Garrett Scott one hopped the wall in right center for a two RBI double for some of the BJ highlights.  Liberal is 31-12 overall and faces the Wellington Heat in two non league games on Monday and Tuesday.
