Brock Kappelmann - July 24, 2017 4:19 pm

The Liberal Bee Jays are in a pool with the Kansas Stars for a second consecutive season at the NBC World Series.  The Bee Jays open play at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita Saturday at 4 against the Everett, Washington Merchants.  The Bee Jays are also in a pool with the Kansas Stars and Colorado Cyclones.  The Stars are made up of former Major League Baseball players.  The Stars will play the Cyclones on Saturday.  The winner of the BJ-Everett game will play the winner of the Stars-Cyclones game on Monday at a time to be announced.  The losers will play Monday at a time to be announced.  The Bee Jays would play the one remaining team Wednesday at a time to be announced.  The Bee Jays have won the NBC five times in 1968, 1979. 1985,  2000, and 2010.  They have been runner up 12 times.  Liberal trails only Fairbanks and Santa Barbara for titles and is tied with Fairbanks for NBC championship game appearances.
