Beaver Man Injured in Monday Accident

Joe Denoyer - March 10, 2022 4:16 pm

An injury accident occurred Monday March 7th at 1:56pm on US Highway 83 at Hollow E0150 Road, which is
five and 4 tenths of a mile south of Turpin.

A 2004 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by Brandon Dewayne Hollar, 36 of Booker, Texas was pulling an empty livestock trailer, traveling south on US-83.

A 2021 Toyota Tundra pickup truck driven by Robert Eugene Lovelace, 65 of Beaver, was traveling westbound on County Road EW15. The Toyota failed to yield at the stop sign to the Peterbilt.
Lovelace tried avoiding the semi by moving onto the shoulder when he was struck by the semi. After impact, the Toyota came to rest on the centerline blocking the road, and the semi traveled approximately one-tenth of a mile south, coming to rest in the east ditch of US-83.

Lovelace was transported by Beaver County EMS to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal,
and then flown by Apollo to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. He was admitted for head and trunk internal injuries and was listed in stable condition. Hollar was not injured.
