The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the pilot of a single-engine aircraft has died following a crash in Beaver County.

The patrol says the pilot was killed Monday when the aircraft crashed a few miles southwest of Bryan’s Corner in the Oklahoma Panhandle. The name of the pilot was withheld pending notification of his family.

The patrol says the 1983 Air Tractor fixed-wing aircraft crashed about 10 a.m. The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to a funeral home in Beaver.

The patrol says the aircraft was flying northeast when its right wing struck the top of a weather tower. The aircraft went into a flat spin and crashed on its top into a field.

The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
