AT&T today announced completion of its high-speed mobile broadband network across 43 western Kansas counties.
In addition to Colby, the company’s commitment to bring mobile broadband to western Kansas includes upgrades in Dighton, Dodge City, Garden City, Goodland, Great Bend, Hays, Larned, Liberal, Medicine Lodge, Russell and dozens of other communities.
Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback and business, civic and political leaders hailed the upgraded mobile broadband network as a threshold event that will both enhance quality of life and expand economic opportunity in rural parts of the state. “Expansion of high-speed mobile broadband access across the state of Kansas is like building a bridge to the future,” Brownback said. “It will help connect the best of what Kansas has to offer to economic opportunities across the globe. It will encourage investment. It will help create jobs. And it will help ensure that Kansas has a competitive business environment that is second to none.”
