Andrade Takes Second at Regionals

Liberal sophomore Justin Andrade shot a 73 at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson Monday. Andrade was one shot away from Hays sharpshooter Trey Herman who carded a 72. LHS senior Ryan Petty also qualified for state by shooting a 90 and placing 20th. Alex Colvin and Conner Warren both shot 91. Slader McVey, who qualified for state last year, shot a 94. Liberal placed fourth out of eight teams. Hays shot a 306. They were followed by Hutchinson (315), McPherson (331), Liberal (345), Salina Central (357), Salina South (361), and Great Bend (386). Andrade and Petty will compete at state in Emporia May 26.
