Aggie Football Wins Two in a Row

Denver, Colo.-On Saturday Sept. 15, the Oklahoma Panhandle State University
Aggies headed to Denver, Colorado to take on the Jaguars of Cole College and
from the opening kickoff to the final whistle, the Aggies played terrific
football on both sides of the ball to come away with a big 62-0 victory.
In the first quarter, quarterback Caleb Holbrook connected with wide
receiver Nick Collins for a 33-yard touchdown pass. Running back Justice
Patterson added an 18-yard TD run to make the Aggie lead 14-0 at the end of
the first quarter. In the second quarter, Collins again found himself on the
receiving end of a 30-yard TD pass from quarterback Justin Billiot. Later
on, Ronnie Seals ran for a 14-yard TD and the Aggies led 28-0. Holbrook
connected with Tim Hollingshed for a 71-yard TD pass and OPSU led 35-0 at
half.
In the second half, OPSU commanded the ground game and kept a foot on the
gas pedal throughout the rest of the game. Chris McClendon took the handoff
from 37 yards out and found his way into the end zone for a touchdown. Seals
added a 23-yard TD and the Aggies led 49-0 as the game went into the final
quarter. Running back Jamal Major found the end zone from 20 yards to get
his TD and Seals ran it in from 15 yards out for his third touchdown run of
the game to put the Aggies up 62-0, the final score.
Holbrook completed 5-11 for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns while Billiot was 4-7
for 55 yards and a touchdown pass. Seals had a big game on the ground making
the most of his 5 carries as he rushed for 58 yards and 3 TDs. McClendon was
the leading rusher with 11 carries for 115 yards and a TD. Patterson and
Major also had a TD each. For the passing game, Collins had 4 receptions for
87 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hollingshed had 2 receptions for 77 yards and a
TD. As for the Aggies defense, nothing is better than a shutout and every
single one of the defensive players played big.
Head coach Gaskamp was very pleased with his Aggies and stated, "It feels
great to come away with a big win on the road. Really feel like our guys
enjoyed playing in a big city like Denver. Going into our bye week, we are
going to focus inward and prepare for a good McMurry team in two weeks." The
Aggies head into their next home game against McMurry University with a 2-1
record scheduled for September 29 at 2:00 p.m.
