Accident Victim Life Watched To Amarillo Hospital

An injury accident occurred on Monday, September 28th at at 1:50pm on US 83 seven tenths of a mile north of County Road EW21,ten and three tenths of a mile south of Turpin, Oklahoma in Beaver County.

A 2008 Ford F350 pickup driven by Nicky Shane Wells, age 44, of Perryton, Texas was southbound on US83 when he crossed the centerline striking the rear trailer axles of a 2013 Freightliner tractor trailer driven by Edward Thomas Scott,age 68, of Ozark, Missouri who was northbound on US83. The Ford pickup rotated 360 degrees and entered the west bar ditch where it then caught fire.Wells was pinned for approximately forty minutes. He was extricated by the Perryton Fire and EMS with assistance from Turpin Fire Department . He was Medi-flighted by Northwest Life Star to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas anddmitted with leg injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
Scott and a passenger in the semi, Rosemary Scott, age 62, of Ozark, Missouri were not injured.
