Accident Injures One on Saturday

​On Saturday, May 6, 2017 at about 12:09 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Second Street and Kansas Avenue for a report of an injury accident. Responding officers found three vehicles were involved.

​Investigating officers found that a 2005 Jeep, driven by a 47 year old female, was driving west on Second Street. The driver of the Jeep ran a red light, striking a 2006 Nissan, driven by a 50 year old male. A 2008 Pontiac was stopped at the light facing south on Kansas Avenue. The Nissan slid into the Pontiac after being struck by the Jeep. The driver of the Pontiac, a 64 year old female, sustained minor injuries. She was treated and released by Seward County EMS at the scene.

​The driver of the Jeep was issued citations for running a red light and no driver’s license. The driver of the Pontiac was issued a citation for no driver’s license.​
