For the second time, the Liberal Bee Jays have won the Rocky Mountain League.  A team which was 8-5 in league play after three straight league losses, wrapped up their regular season with a 12-1 run rule win over the Dodge City A’s Saturday night at Brent Gould Field on National Beef Night.  Hays lost at home to Boulder 10-4.  The Bee Jays finish 18-6 in the Rocky Mountain and win the league outright.

For a third straight home game, the Bee Jays scored five in the first.  Noah Giovanelli singled home two runs.  Kaden Isola lofted a sac fly to left and Trenton Uyeda singled home a run.  The A’s scored a third inning run to make it 5-1.  Liberal scored four in the fourth.  Kaden Isola singled home a run.  Dodge had two errors in the inning.  Liberal scored three in the sixth.  Cole Manuel singled and Noah Giovanelli doubled to begin the inning.  An error plated two runs.  Kaden Isola doubled.

Liberal out-hit the A’s 10-5.  DC had four errors and Liberal did not commit an error.

Josh Mosley pitched four strong innings allowing one run with seven strikeouts.  Preston Roberge coasted through three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks.  Kaden Isola was Black Hills Energy Player of the Game going 2-3 with four RBI’s.  Noah Giovanelli was 2-3 with three RBI’s and two runs.  Cole Manuel was 2-2 with a double and three runs.  Cal Anthony added a double.

Before the game, Cole Manuel was named the team MVP.  The Bob Carlile board members of the year are Chuck Bowman and Christy Kirk.  The Fan of the Year goes to Rick and Diana Elliot.

Dodge City is 12-19-2 and finishes 10-14 in the Rocky Mountain.  Liberal is 21-9-1 and finishes 18-6 in the Rocky Mountain.  The Bee Jays host the Rattler Night exhibition game Monday night at 7pm.  Free hamburgers for the first 120 fans.  Sharp McQueen PA and Hornung Family Funeral Home are the buyout sponsors.  The Bee Jays will play in the NBC World Series later in the week.
