On January 27, 2026, Haskell County Deputies observed an eastbound vehicle traveling on Zuni Street from County Road FF in Satanta. Deputies were advised that the driver’s license of the vehicle’s registered owner was currently suspended and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop at the 1000th block of Tuscarora Street in Satanta. The driver, identified as Raul Leyva-Ramirez, stated that he was the vehicle’s registered owner and was placed under arrest. Deputies then asked Leyva-Ramirez if he consented to a vehicle search, to which he agreed. Upon further investigation, contraband containing presumptive methamphetamine and cocaine residue was discovered inside of the vehicle. Furthermore, Leyva-Ramirez was transported to the Haskell County Jail where he was placed into custody for Possession of Opiate, Opium, Narcotic or Certain Stimulant.
On January 28, 2026, Karen Ornelas was court processed by Haskell County Deputies. Ornelas was booked into the Haskell County Jail and issued appropriate documentation in accordance with Kansas law.
Then on January 30, 2026, the Deputies conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle that exited Joe’s Gas Station and began weaving within the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 56 in Sublette. Upon contact, the driver chose not to comply when requested to produce their driver’s license, argued lawful commands, and became highly combative. Deputies proceeded to place the driver, subsequently identified as Cesar Miguel Bravo, under arrest and transported him to the Haskell County Jail. Once placed into custody, Bravo remained combative with deputies and began destroying items within his cell. The statutes believed to be violated by Bravo are Obstructing Apprehension of Prosecution, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, Transporting Open Container, Failure of License to Be Carried or Exhibited Upon Demand, and Criminal Damage to Property.
