Southwest Medical Center is proud to share our 2024 Community Benefit Report, which highlights how our hospital served our community throughout the past year.

This report reflects our ongoing commitment to improving community health, expanding access to care, and investing in programs and services that meet local needs. Every accomplishment outlined in this report is made possible through the dedication of our physicians, caregivers, and staff who are committed to serving this community with compassion, excellence, and accountability.

We are especially proud to share that our hospital isfinancially independent. We operate solely on our own resources and do not receive tax dollars from the county. This distinction places us among a small number of hospitals across the state of Kansas that are able to sustain operations without relying on taxpayer funding — demonstrating strong stewardship, efficiency, and responsibility.
