The Seward County Saint baseball season is over. The #8 Cowley Tigers routed the Saints 11-1 in seven innings Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field in Ark City. Seward pitching walked 12 and hit one a day after walking six and hitting six.
The Tigers scored five in the second on five hits and one error. Two of the runs were earned as the Saints committed an error. Seward got back in the game with a run in the fifth. Grant Cox walked and Colton Rowan reached on a fielder’s choice. Nathan Hopkins lined an RBI single to right for his 51st RBI of the season. The Tigers added three more in the sixth and three in the bottom of the seventh. Cowley out-hit Seward 11-4. Nathan Hopkins was 2-4 and was Epic Touch Player of the Game.
Cowley advanced to the eight team double elimination portion of the Region 6 Tournament against Hutchinson Tuesday in Salina. Seward finishes 26-31.
