Redskins Lose Heart Breaker in Overtime

Brock Kappelmann - February 10, 2019 8:49 am

The Liberal Redskins were up to their old tricks on Saturday night in the Big House.  They rallied to take a late lead against the visiting Dodge City Red Demons.  However this time they didn’t have enough tricks up their sleeve and after multiple shots to win it, they fell short 64-63 in overtime.

The Red Demons and Redskins were just happy to be playing each other.  They had already been postponed three times this season.  Dodge led 18-9 after one quarter.  The Red Demons led 29-24 at the half.  Liberal out paced Dodge 15-11 in the third quarter to trail 40-39.

Syris Dunlap had a career high with 22 points and Hunter Hatcher scored 15.  Brody Sumner dropped in nine.

Liberal drops their second straight on a busy weekend after a five point loss at Hays Friday night.  The Redskins are 9-7 and 1-4 in the WAC and Dodge City is 9-7 and 2-2 in the WAC.

Liberal hosts Cimarron Tuesday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
