Cowley Clobbers Saints in Game 1

The Jayhawk East champion Cowley Tigers defeated the Seward County Saints 15-1 Friday afternoon in Ark City. The Tigers take a 1-0 lead in the best of three series.  The game went seven innings due to the run rule.

Cowley jumped on they Saints for three in the first as SCCC committed two errors.  Cowley added two in the third, four in the fourth, and six in the fifth. Cowley scored 15 runs on 16 hits and three errors and Seward had one run on seven hits and three errors.  Brian Tims had three hits in the loss. Seward’s run came in the fourth when Tims scored on a Cody Stineman double off the wall in right center.

The Saints have lost 12 of the last 13 and fall to 17-37. Cowley is 38-16. The same two teams meet Saturday afternoon at 2 with Saints Dugout Show at 1:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
