Beaver Looks for Return to Playoffs

KSCB News - August 18, 2015 12:58 pm

Beaver should be better in 2015. The Dusters have nine starters back on both sides of the ball from last year’s 5-5 team. Mike McVay, the dean of area coaches, returns for his 21st year as head coach at the school with his father’s name (Tom McVay) on the stadium.

The Dusters have 31 out for football at the Class A school. The Dusters bounced back from a 2-8 season in 2013 and 1-9 in 2012 to become competitive in ’14. Many of this year’s seniors have been multi year varsity contributors. The seven Beaver seniors are FB/LB Skyler Mills, T/T Dee Alston, TB/DB Cody Mathews, WR/CB Chase Davidson, C/G Fernando Castillo, lineman Oakley Cudd, and TE Andrew Linville. This group will aim to pave a path for Beaver’s first winning and playoff season since 2010 when they went 9-2.

The Dusters were featured during the Tuesday Sportsguys which airs weekday mornings from 7:37 to 9 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
